Let’s take it from the top

I´m M, a black, vibrant and eclectic celebrant based in Malaga, Southern Spain.

I take your wedding ceremony dreams from paper to reality, creating memories that last a lifetime.

The beginning

If someone had told me in the future that I would learn to speak Spanish, move to Spain, and become a celebrant, I wouldn´t have believed them. But that´s exactly what happened, and here I am!

My ceremonies are best described as a rewind to when you first met and a fast-forward of your journey to marriage, narrated in my personal style, weaving colourful metaphors to tell your story and remind you of the unique moments that led you to be with me on your special day.  Take a peek at my wedding gallery. to get a flavour of the ceremony vibe, and whilst you’re browsing, take a look at some of my share ideas for your wedding ceremony. My ceremonies can be officiated in English or a fusion of English and Spanish.

So who are my people?

People who ask me to be their celebrant are professionals in many disciplines and are also busy business owners who travel from around the world, often the USA, Australia, the UK and within Spain to celebrate their ceremony.  They are optimistic, glass-half-full kind of people, who see the world as a place to travel, explore, learn and try new experiences and whilst enjoying life´s gems, often in the Spanish sunshine.

Is my celebrant hat on all the time

When I take my celebrant hat off, I love reading Spanish crime fiction, with the occasional romance, practising yoga, walking along the seafront observing the sea waves, whether calm or crashing against the shoreline. This is my peaceful and special place!  One for a tapa or two with a glass of red wine, maybe a Rioja or Tempranillo, white in summer, also makes me smile.  And did I mention cheesecake! My best dessert ever, but not just any cheesecake will do.

What makes me, well, me

I am all things “colour”, in fact, I love a clash. Being surrounded by positive energy is where I´m happiest.

I´m not for everyone, especially if you want me to wear high-heeled shoes, have neat hair and wear a ball gown, or equally if you love to be high up in the mountains. You’re unlikely to find me in the forest or in the sea, although the beach is perfect. A boutique or other hotel setting, urban city vibe, park, restaurant or urban finca not too far from the city centre suits me well.

My people say

My couples or individuals who book me say I´m calm, considered, safe, warm, vibrant, stylish!! That looks good in their photos, too.  They say I am reliable, a hand holder, reassuring, and on their special day blew them and everyone attending away.

I make you feel like this

I often leave my couples and guests laughing and crying and asking, so how long have you known the couple? And where did your paths cross?

And I reply warmly, we met online and started our journey together, getting to know each other up to today, tomorrow and for many beyond. But don´t just take my word for it!

So many of our guests thought we already knew Marcia. She really immersed herself in our lives, making jokes about my husband’s football team, to guiding everyone through a short meditation because she knew how important it was to us to feel grounded. It didn’t feel like it was just me and my husband standing there while everyone watched; it honestly felt like we were all part of something together.

On the day, she was just fabulous. We wanted someone who could make the ceremony funny, but also have everyone in tears during the beautiful moments (happy tears, of course!), and she absolutely nailed it.
